Approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), KYBELLA is a new nonsurgical option for upper neck fat. The active ingredient in KYBELLA is a manmade version of deoxycholic acid, which acts similarly to the body’s natural DA to break down and absorb fat cells. Once it is injected below the chin, you can see a noticeable decrease in the volume of fat. When the fat is removed, the cells cannot reform so you are able to enjoy your new, slimmer neck and clear jawline for years to come.
Injections of KYBELLA don’t need anesthesia so you can leave our office when you feel comfortable. However, you may notice temporary swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin, although this should not last more than a few days. A: KYBELLA treatment costs will depend on the number of sessions you need. In your initial consultation, a customized treatment plan will be made to work with your goals. A member of our staff will also review payment options with you during your first appointment.
Q: How does KYBELLA work?
A: The active ingredient in KYBELLA, deoxycholic acid, works to break down and destroy fat cells in the body. After the fat cells are destroyed, these fat cells cannot grow back. This is why additional KYBELLA injections should not be necessary as soon as you have met your goal.
Q: Can KYBELLA be used to treat other areas of the body?
A: Currently, KYBELLA may only be used to treat the submental area. KYBELLA has been proven to effectively reduce the appearance of a double chin. KYBELLA hasn’t been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for use on any other areas of the body.
Q: How many treatment sessions will I need?
A: At your consultation, a personalized KYBELLA treatment plan will be tailored to meet your needs. Most often, patients receive between 2 – 4 KYBELLA treatments to achieve their goals. KYBELLA injections must also be made about 30 days apart. You shouldn’t get more than six treatments.
